ELARIA ACADEMY · LEADERSHIP IN PRACTICE
Developing leaders through the work that matters.
Leadership capability doesn't develop through theory alone. It grows when people have the opportunity to think, make decisions, test new approaches and reflect on what happens in their real working environment.
Leadership in Practice is a facilitated development programme that brings a small group of leaders together to work on live organisational challenges, strengthening their judgement, ownership and ability to enable others.
When leadership development needs to make a difference in practice.
Your managers may already have attended leadership training, yet still find themselves facing the same challenges when they return to work.
Leadership in Practice is designed for organisations that want their leaders to develop through real challenges, not simply learn about leadership in a classroom.
It may be right for your organisation if:
Your managers are moving from expert to leader — and need to develop the confidence and judgement to enable others rather than providing every answer themselves.
Too much depends on a small number of people — and you want to strengthen decision-making and ownership across your leadership team.
You want leadership development connected to real work — so participants can test new approaches, reflect on what happens and bring their learning back into the organisation.
You want lasting capability, not a one-off training event — with opportunities for participants to apply and sustain their learning over time.
Real challenges. Shared learning. Leadership in practice.
Leadership in Practice brings together a small cohort of 6–8 leaders over 10–12 weeks. Through six facilitated sessions, participants use their own live leadership challenges to develop judgement, explore different approaches and put new ways of leading into practice.
01 · Agree the focus
We work with your organisational sponsor to understand the development priorities, agree the programme's focus and identify the leadership challenges participants will bring.
02 · Bring real work into the room
Across six 90-minute facilitated sessions, participants explore their own challenges, learn from one another and develop their ability to think, decide and enable others.
03 · Experiment between sessions
Participants try new approaches in their day-to-day work, notice what happens and bring their learning back to the group. Their real work becomes the place where leadership capability develops.
04 · Reflect on progress and sustain learning
We review learning and progress at the end of the programme, with a further check-in after six months to explore what has changed and how the organisation can sustain that development.
More capable leaders. Greater organisational capacity.
Leadership in Practice is designed to create value beyond the development of individual participants. As leaders strengthen their judgement and change how they work with others, they can help build capability across their teams and the wider organisation.
Stronger leadership judgement — managers develop their ability to explore complex challenges, consider different perspectives and make informed decisions.
Greater ownership across teams — leaders practise creating the conditions for others to think, decide and take responsibility rather than relying on them for every answer.
Learning applied to real organisational challenges — participants bring live work into the programme and test practical changes between sessions, connecting development directly to everyday leadership.
A clearer picture of development and progress — an end-of-programme review and six-month follow-up provide opportunities to reflect on changes in leadership practice and identify how learning can be sustained.
